Your students did NOT attend a PPS Pre-K locations: Boise-Eliot/Humboldt, Clarendon, Creston Annex, Dr. MLK Jr, Faubion, Grout, Jason Lee, Kelly, Marysville, Lent, Rosa Parks, Sacajawea, Sitton, Whitman, Woodlawn
Your student does NOT have an IFSP and did NOT receive services from Multnomah Early Childhood Program (MECP)
You are enrolling your child in your neighborhood school and NOT a CBO/Charter
You have an email address and access to a computer

Immunization Requirements

The first proper day of kindergarten for all students is Tuesday, September 3, but there are two important events prior to that day:

All families will meet with their teacher for a one-on-one family meeting either August 27 or 28.
Half of the students will have a practice first day of school on August 29, and the other half will come for their first day on August 30.

In mid-August, your child's teacher will reach out to you to schedule both the family meeting and the practice first day of school. This schedule leaves some uncertainty prior to September 3, but the gentle approach allows students to ease into their kindergarten year with time to get to know their teacher and the classroom.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE DATES ABOVE ARE FOR FALL 2025. DATES FOR FALL 2026 WILL BE POSTED AS SOON AS THE SCHOOL BOARD APPROVES NEXT YEAR'S CALENDAR.

Connect to Kindergarten Events

Do you have a student who will be attending Kindergarten at Irvington in fall 2026? If so, please save the dates below for our Kindergarten Connect events this spring.

Come to the school for a formal adult-only info session. We look forward to meeting you!

February 24, 6pm, at Irvington
May 7, 6pm, at Irvington

We will also host an obstacle course party for incoming kindergarteners on Tuesday, May 4, from 5-6pm. Due to limited space, please find childcare arrangements for siblings. This event will be only for incoming kindergarteners and caregivers. You can meet us at the gym entrance at the back of the school.

New this spring, we will host an open gym night for all neighborhood children aged 2-5 on May 14, 5-6pm. This includes incoming kindergarteners, but also any child younger who wants to get to know our building a little bit better.

We will also have popsicle parties during the summer for incoming families. Please join us on the playground at the times/dates below:

June 15, 5-6pm, at the Irvington playground
August 17, 5-6pm, at the Irvington playground
